Hope your weekend went well. A pretty good race this past weekend.
We’re still giving you some tips for playing the game. Today we’re talking about how to choose your cards for the draw.
The draw starts the game. Every player chooses 20 cards, 9 yellow cards and 3 ad cards to share with everyone. You hand the cards to the player to the left. They check them out for a few minutes
then pass the cards to the left and it continues until your card comes back to you.
Yellow Cards - You must choose 9 yellow cards for your draw. 4 Good yellow cards (they have a plus in the corner) 4 Bad yellow cards (with a minus in the corner) and 1 other either good or bad. Some yellow cards are really good – like take an extra turn. Some are really bad, like lose a turn. Just remember there is no way of knowing which cards you’ll be drawing… it is totally random so I like to choose the more normal cards.
Ad Cards – again choose cards you think will show up in the commercials. You can choose up to 3.
Play cards - The most important part of the game, in my opinion anyway. In the deck you play with you can have one gold card, 2 silver cards and 3 bronze cards. You can also have 1 joker in your final deck. Choosing the joker doesn’t have a color. So you could have 1 gold, 1 joker, 2 silver and 2 bronze cards. In the 20 cards you show to other players you can have any combination of cards you wish, but only 3 jokers. You will choose the cards for your final deck from these 20 cards.
As you’re viewing the other players cards you’ll want to note especially the jokers they have and the gold cards. Remember each driver can be used only once. The jokers may already have a number on them from a previous race, or they could be blank (so they could choose that card for any driver). If the joker has a number, make sure to check the numbers of remaining changes they have. As long as a number remains in the change section, the player can change the number on that joker when they put it into play… so that’s something to think about.
Tomorrow we’ll talk about some things you’ll want to make sure are in your deck.
